Robin Thicke Wife & New Album: 'Blurred Lines' Star's Album Disappoints in UK [Watch]
Following his disastrous Twitter chat organized by VH1, the "Black Tar Cloud" singer has more bad news.
His new album, "Paula," has sold a meager 530 copies in its first week of U.K. sales, notes The Guardian. In comparison, his previous album, "Blurred Lines," sold 25,981 copies in the first week. "Paula" sold 25,000 copies in the United States, which is much less than the 177,000 his "Blurred Lines" sold around the same time last year.
The singer was recently on "Sway in the Morning," where he got very emotional talking about his wife, according to The Source.
In the interview, Sway Calloway asked him the tough questions, such as what he did to end up separated from Paula Patton, his wife of 20 years. Thicke refused to answer the question, but he explained that the answers people are looking for can be found in his album.
Thicke was not ready for the part of the interview where Sway played a clip of what Patton said the last time she was on the show. The crooner was choked up and asked that the cameras be turned off, notes The Source.
When he regained his composure, he said: "Now who doesn't think I should make an album called 'Paula?'"
Thicke has continued to be slammed in the media.
For example, The Daily Beast has an article titled "We Should Celebrate Social Media's Slaying of Robin Thicke" that explains why Thicke deserves all the backlash he is getting.
"Thicke's mission, however, to pump sleazy, entitled-man thoughts into the air continues," writes Tauriq Moosa. "This time, instead of just women in general, he has decided to add his own boring relationship to increase the creep factor. To listen to his song is unfortunately to learn of his celebrity breakup."
Billboard also released an article that asked female music critics if they would take Thicke back if "Paula" was written about them.
