'Reina De Corazones' Telenovela 2014: Venezuelan Star Gabriel Coronel Plays Villian in New Show
Gabriel Coronel's good looks might make him seem like a natural fit for the hero, but for his newest role in "Reina De Corazones," he is actually the villain.
The telenovela premiered on Telemundo on July 7, but Coronel's character, Francisco Marino, is set to make his debut on July 28, notes Voxxi. This is the third soap opera for the Venezuelan star, and though he won't appear on all the episodes, he will make an impact in the lives of the other characters.
Frank Marino is a highly trained Secret Intelligence Service agent. He's responsible for one of the most important missions of the group, and he was trained in rigorous conditions. He became friends with Javier Bolivar, but they eventually become enemies after a woman drives a wedge between them, according to Telemundo.
Luckily for fans, he is not mean, like his character is. He wants to make his fans, known as Coronelistas, happy.
"It's important for me to go to these countries and meet my fans, and be able to kiss them and hug them," Coronel said to Voxxi.
The series will be characterized by love, passion, intrigue, vengeance and betrayals. The story will take place in Las Vegas, which is the perfect backdrop to a series that deals with power and luxury, notes Ideal.
Reina, a costume designer, and Nicolas, a valet, fall in love, but they encounter a setback. Nicolas receives a new identity as part of his real job, and Reina's life is turned completely upside down.
This makes her completely change, and she says, "Better a bad marriage than a good funeral. Love is not the only reason a woman says, 'yes, I accept.'"
The telenovela airs Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. on Telemundo.
