"Dancing With the Stars" professional dancer Derek Hough is unsure if he will dance on Season 19.

When Parade magazine asked the 29-year-old dancer this week if he would be returning to "Dancing With the Stars" for its upcoming season, Hough said, "I don't know yet."

"There are a lot of changes happening right now," Hough said. "I'll always be a part of 'Dancing With the Stars.' They're my family, and I love working with them and being part of a show that is so positive."

Hough did not go into much detail about what circumstances would cause him to leave the ABC dancing competition show, however.

"We got a new executive producer, so new things are happening, and we'll see what happens," he said. "I love being a part of it."

Last season, Hough danced with Paralympian Amy Purdy and placed third.

"Amy for me was a huge blessing because there's a difference between success and fulfillment, and for me this was more fulfilling," Hough said of what could be his last "Dancing With the Stars" partner ever. "It was inspiring for me to be around a woman like her. For me, it transcended a trophy and changed the definition of the competition for me."

What will Hough do if he decides not to make another run at the mirrorball trophy (of which he already has five)? He didn't say for sure, but the dancer does have many hobbies besides dancing.

'"Well I have a book ['Taking the Lead: Lessons of a Life in Motion'] coming out in August, so I've been working on that the past several months, but I love adventure," Hough said. "I love scuba diving and rock climbing. I love things that make me feel like Indiana Jones, basically. I love to go snowboarding -- all the things that my producers would be terrified if I told them I was doing."

In May, fellow professional dancer and last season's winner Maksim Chmerkovskiy also said he is unsure if he will continue competing on "Dancing With the Stars."

Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" is scheduled to debut this fall.
