'Lo Que La Vida Me Robó' Spoilers: Show Filmed 3 Endings, Has Yet to Decide Which to Use
The successful telenovela "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" is coming to an end, but the finale has yet to be picked.
Three endings have been filmed, but the production team cannot decide which one to use, according to Diario Basta. The last episode will air on July 27 in Mexico, and a few weeks later in the United States.
"The finales are already recorded. There are three in total, and the definitive ending will be decided on in the last week of airing according to what marketing studios find that people most want," said a source, who works on the show. "One of them has Alejandro dying. In another, it's José Luis that dies. And one more has both of them dying."
Earlier in the year, the telenovela got an extended season, which has probably changed the story in some ways.
The telenovela is based off of 1983's "Bodas de Odio," which was written by Cuban Caridad Bravo Adams. But there are enough differences between Montserrat, of the current telenovela, and Magdalena, of the 1983 show, that the endings should be different.
In "Bodas de Odio," Magdalena lives happily ever after with Alejandro. They were about to lose their lives, but José Luis sacrifices himself because he wants her to be happy.
The source said that the production team is nervous about how the ending will be received.
"We're suffering because the story is already so stretched out," the source said. "The telenovela should have ended at the beginning of June, but then the World Cup came, and Televisa decided to make it longer."
The main actors have shared images from the last weeks of shooting, and they even let their followers know that they had wrapped up filming. A few of them are already working on their next project, which is theater work.
