Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez has not only won the crown; she also has gained the support of the Latino community.

Now, the 24-year-old beauty queen would like to inspire other Latina women.

"The title has changed my life in so many ways!" she said, according to El Universal. "I feel honored to have the platform to inspire and motivate. I would like to inspire Latinas to always follow their dreams."

The Sacramento, California, native, whose father is Mexican and mother is American, has said that as she has grown she has felt more connected to her Latina side. She has become more "excited" and wants to "explore" her Hispanic heritage.

After becoming Miss Nevada, she traveled to Mexico to work for charities. She specifically worked with children but has also worked to help better communities. This further inspired her to become closer to her culture, and she wants to learn to speak Spanish.

"Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish. But my grandfather was fluent, and I hope it is in my genes and I can learn quickly," she said.

Sanchez is skilled in martial arts, something which her father enrolled her in so that she could overcome her shyness. Her dream career is working as a TV presenter, but she has a back up plan if that does not happen for her.

"If that is not given to me, I would like to be a kindergarten teacher, because I love children," she said.

But currently, she and other young women are preparing themselves for Miss Universe 2014. No date or location has been announced for the event.

One of her upcoming events will take place on Sunday, July 20, for National Lollipop Day, according to Haute Living. The event will raise money for The Shade Tree Las Vegas, which is a shelter for women, children and their pets.
