Samsung has confirmed that it will be revealing the new Galaxy Note at the IFA trade show on September 4. Reports also note that the new phablet will be the very first device to feature 4K video recording.

The South Korean tech giant has already sent out invitations to its press event happening at the upcoming IFA technology trade show in Berlin, Germany. The invitations -posted on CNET - clearly hinted on a would-be Galaxy Note 3, writing "Note the date." According to CNET, the Note 3 could follow its predecessors and be unveiled at the annual trade show.

Notably, another report by CNET notes that the new Samsung phablet could be the very first smartphone to feature "Ultra High Definition video recording."

Citing the Korean news site, The Korean Economic Daily, the Galaxy Note 3 could be the very first mobile device to feature 4K video capturing (3,840 x 2,160-pixel). CNET notes that there are currently no other smartphone that is capable of at least playing back video at this resolution.

So what exactly is 4K video? According to the International Business Times, 4K display resolution has "approximately 4,000 horizontal pixels", far from the 1080p video resolution that most people consider as Full HD. According to the report, 4K videos is equivalent to 8.3 megapixels.

CNET also reports that the Galaxy Note 3 would allegedly include a 24-bit/192KHz music playback that will make captured videos even more impressive. However, the site also noted that with the increased resolution of the videos, it's hard to imagine how much storage the phablet will have to store such media.

"Going a step further, it's hard to imagine the Galaxy Note 3 having enough storage to hold said videos. It also isn't clear what the purpose of videos would be at such a high resolution, since 4K TV sets are still a long ways off from being the norm," the site wrote.
