'Arrested Development' fans who have already marathoned Season 4 on Netflix may have something else to look forward to.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of the Fox (and now Netflix) comedy, said a film is in the works.

"I'm working on a movie right now." Hurwitz told Rolling Stone. "I can't get into much more detail about it because I don't want to scare anybody off. I don't want to be presumptuous about it."

Hurwitz added that 20th Century Fox owns the property outright, but everyone is eager to turn the cult comedy into a movie. He also said that a big challenge when filming Season 4 was working around the large cast's busy schedules.

"A TV season is a six-month commitment," he told Rolling Stone. "But I think it would be very doable to get them together for four or five weeks to make a movie."

Since an 'Arrested Development' movie hasn't been green-lit yet, Hurwitz wants to avoid discussing movie details and a potential release date, as he doesn't want to put out false information.

"Right now, I'm trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things," he told Rolling Stone. "I'm also superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It's the best way to guarantee it doesn't happen.

After a seven-year hiatus on Fox, 'Arrested Development' returned to Netflix in May. As is with all Netflix original series, all of the episodes are available for streaming. The 15 episodes took a different route from the show's first three seasons, focusing on one character at a time.

The new season was met with some hostility by fans, critics and the Internet. Hurwitz said many people were quick to jump to conclusions.

"By now, many people have gone through the episodes again," he told Rolling Stone. "They see the first episodes as the first chapters as opposed to the first episodes. People responding quickly to the first episodes was akin to reading a couple chapters of a book and saying 'I don't like this.'"

Hurwitz said his ultimate goal for 'Arrested Development' is to make a movie and then a fifth season. In a recent interview with Deadline, Jason Bateman said that if a movie is made, it may be released only on Netflix.

'Arrested Development' stars Bateman, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat, and is available to stream on Netflix. Season 4 has received three Primetime Emmy nominations.
