'Sons of Anarchy' Season 7 Premiere, Cast News and Spoilers: Teaser Trailer Released; Creator Kurt Sutter Upset over Emmy Snubs [Watch]
While the teaser trailer for FX's "Sons of Anarchy" Season 7 was recently released, creator Kurt Sutter has expressed his frustration over the popular show not getting enough Emmy nomination he thinks it deserves.
In the preview clip called "Hell Awaits," the hit outlaw motorcycle club series' protagonist - SAMCRO President Jackson 'Jax' Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam - is seen riding his motorcycle on a dark highway, as shadows of a skull repeatedly pass over his face.
The highly anticipated "SOA" final season will premiere with its showrunner being upset about how the show has been snubbed of Emmy Primetime Awards nominations. "There's a certain cachet that comes with being snubbed in all major categories. Repeatedly," said Sutter to Nikki Finke. "It's the 'Lucci Factor.' You gain more fame, respect and admiration the more your efforts are ignored. If you win gracefully, you're famous. If you lose loudly, you're infamous. I, unfortunately, fall into the later category."
The highly-praised series only got one nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for its soundtrack "Days Are Gone" - which is clearly not enough for Sutter. "I still suffer the emotional and spiritual depletion every July when 'Sons of Anarchy' gets zero nominations in all major categories," he continued, complaining: "While other f*cking shows that ran out of story three seasons ago, still get tagged to step up to the show."
Kurt Sutter then explained how he truly feels about the industry, using an analogy of high school life: "Remember when that kid you hated from second period French had that big end of year party? You knew he was a lazy, self-important, pompous douchebag, and yet when you didn't get the invitation, you sobbed into your Members Only jacket and a piece of youthful hope cracked off your soul and feel in dogs*it."
