NBC's late night comedy sketch show, "Saturday Night Live" has been on a major firing spree lately.

Just days after comedian Brooks Wheelan tweeted that he had been fired from 'SNL," his fellow "newbie" cast mates, Noel Wells and John Milhiser are making headlines for also getting fired from the show after just one season.

Deadline.com reports, Wells and Milhiser's "SNL" contracts have not been renewed for a second season after failing to stand out during their first season on the show.

According to Deadline.com, "SNL" considers a new cast mate's season one as a boot camp. During their first season trial run, the new cast member must prove their worthiness for getting their contracts renewed.

Failure to shine during season one results in failure to move on with "Saturday Night Live."

And according to The LA Times, "None of the trio made indelible marks during their freshman year."

The last season of "SNL" brought in six new cast members; three of whom we know now have been fired.

The fate of newcomers Sasheer Zamata, Kyle Mooney, and Beck Bennett has yet to be announced.

In addition to the termination of the newer cast mates, "SNL" has cleaned up shop on an old cast member as well.

Nasim Pedrad, who has appeared on "SNL" for five seasons and is best know for her Kim Kardashian impersonation, will be leaving the show to join the cast of the upcoming FOX sitcom "Mulaney."

"Mulaney" is scheduled to appear in "FOX's" fall season line-up. It is written by "SNL" writer John Mulaney and produced by "SNL" producer, Lorne Michaels.

The fate of Michael Patrick O' Brien, who first worked on "SNL" as a writer and later transitioned as an "SNL" actor, has yet to be determined as well.

However, Deadline.com reports that O' Brien's future may involve him returning to the "SNL" writing staff or co-anchoring the popular web series "7 Minutes in Heaven."
