Madden 15 Gameplay, Player Rating Rumors, and News: Next Version of Madden to Focus on Defense?
Everyone knows defense wins championships, or so they say. This year's Madden NFL video game will focus on defense, making it more realistic.
The NFL preseason starts in August each year. Every year around that time, a new Madden NFL game comes out. Each year it gets a little better. How will this year's game compare to the past versions?
Gamers are going to be able to train and develop skills thanks to the new Skills Trainer mode released by EA Sports this year. Assistant Producer for Madden 2015 Danny Doeberling said that the new Skills Trainer mode will help players get used to the game, learn the new mechanics and even learn football concepts, according to Bleacher Report.
There will also be a Gauntlet Mode. In this mode, players will face different challenges and situations in a mini-game playing experience.
On defense, gamers will have a "tackling cone." This triangle will allow the player to know what kind of tackle can be made depending on how far away they are from the ball carrier. There will be three types of tackles: the conservative tackle, the agressive tackle and the ever-popular hit stick tackle.
The visuals for Madden 2015 will be better than in the past. There will be a default camera setting that looks more like the camera angles you see on TV. Instead of having to go into the pause menu to change the camera views, players will be able to do it before the snap takes place on the field.
Reactions to player achievements like touchdowns and big hits will be more dynamic and less scripted and pre-planned. It will feel more realistic with different camera angles. Also returning for Madden 2015 is a halftime show.
Player rankings are always something that needs to be decided for each Madden version. Research is done to try to get the best stats and attribute match for each player. Monday, the ratings are expected to be made public on EA Sport's website. According to Polygon a video game website, the ratings are very strict. Polygon reported that second-year pro and last year's offensive Rookie of the Year Eddie Lacy only received a player rating of 82.
Madden 15 is scheduled for a release date of Aug. 26.
