2014 Apple iTunes Festival Lineup Rumors: Maroon 5 and Pharrell Among Confirmed Acts
On Monday, Apple announced the studded lineup for their eighth annual Apple iTunes Festival set to begin this fall in September.
So far, 14 acts have been confirmed for the 30-day music festival that will include 60 acts in total, Apple Insider reported.
The 14 acts include Maroon 5, Pharrell Williams, Beck, Blondie, Kylie Minogue, David Guetta, 5 Seconds of Summer, Calvin Harris, Chrissie Hynde, Kasabian, Robert Plant, Kiesza Jungle and Sam Smith who, ABC News reported, was a spectator at last year's iTunes Music Festival prior to breaking out as a successful recording artist this year.
"The iTunes Festival in London is back with another stunning line-up of world class performers and tremendous new acts," Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue said to Apple Insider. "These live shows capture the heart and soul of iTunes and we love bringing them to our customers in the Roundhouse, as well as to the millions of people watching all over the world for free."
In an effort to bring the festivals to fans world wide, Apple has partnered with media outlets from all over the world including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Europe, Japan, Mexico and the U.S., reports Apple insider.
Tickets to the actual show will be handed out to winners who enter the festival's contest.
Apple consumers with Apple TV and other IOS devices will naturally be able to watch a live stream of the festival on their Apple products.
For the first time this year, Apple expanded the reach of its iTunes festival to the U.S. during the 2014 SXSW Music Festival in Texas, reports ABC News.
Past iTunes Festival headliner acts include Adele, Coldplay, Elton John, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake.
