Bookmarking interesting sites and videos is a necessity in today's world, and now Facebook is offering the feature for your news feed.

If there isn't enough time to scroll through the about 1,500 new posts each time, the new save button can bookmark links to articles, posts, movie clips and music to check later, according to Information Week.

The new feature was launched Monday and will be available to those accessing Facebook from a computer, and iOS and Android users, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Facebook said the feature will have a privacy option as well as the ability to be shared with friends, but it will also send reminders about saved items to the user.

The reminders will appear in the News Feed, according to Facebook. "You can save items like links, places, movies, TV and music. Only you can see the items you save unless you choose to share them with friends."

Saved items will be organized by category automatically, after clicking the button which will be near the Like button, according to USA Today.

"Every day, people find all sorts of interesting items on Facebook that they don't have time to explore right away," according to the Facebook blog post quoted on USA Today. "Now you can save items that you find on Facebook to check out later when you have more time."

Up until now the only way to psuedo-bookmark items and links has been to click the Like button and view them in your activity log later.

The new Save feature can be compared to bookmarking sites such as Pocket, Instapaper and Pinterest, according to Information Week. But the difference is that the new feature isn't customizable and cannot be accessed offline.

Facebook said the way to find things saved on mobile devices is to click on the More tab, and click on Saved.

Using a web browser, the saved items can be found by clicking the Saved link on the left side.

All saved items act like normal posts and can be liked or shared, as well as can be moved into an archive list.
