The official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 has just been released online as Rockstar Games continues to tease gamers on what to expect for the upcoming video game.

The teaser dropped earlier today and had every fan excited as it highlighted a number of features and updates that have made GTA a benchmark in action-adventure video gaming. After releasing several screenshots and hinting on new game modes, finally Rockstar had visuals to go with the talk.

According to Metro UK, the trailer brings together the various elements of the game in a "made-for-TV montage" that will debut on air this coming Sunday.

"This trailer aims to show the complete package however and gets its TV debut in the US on Sunday during an episode of the similarly crime-ridden Breaking Bad," the site wrote.

The trailer gave a brief but interesting introduction as to how the three main characters - Michael, Trevor and Franklin - came to work together. Interestingly, the video game's single player mode allows users to switch from one character to the other, making the whole free roam gaming activity more interesting.

"A few weeks ago I was happily sulking by my swimming pool, then my psychotic best friend shows up out of nowhere to torture me over mistakes I made over a decade ago," retired criminal Michael said in the trailer.

The teaser also showed several other dawning animations from GTA 5, including close-to-real facial expressions, scary explosions and exciting police chases - the usual clips that make Grand Theft Auto one of a kind.

Interestingly, the trailer is laid with a song that sets the perfect mood for the game. Just like always, gamers and GTA fans are eager to know what the song is. Well, according to Now Gamer, song is called "Sleepwalking" by the artist The Chain Gang Of 1974.

Grand Theft Auto drops ins stores on September 17 for Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox One.
