WWE Wrestler, 'Total Divas': Daniel Bryan Thwarts Home Intruder
WWE World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Daniel Bryan successfully stopped a burglar that broke into his and his wife and "Total Divas" co-star Brie Bella's home in Phoenix Thursday night.
According to Phoenix police, officers were responding to another call in the Arcadia Area of two suspicious males roaming the neighborhood when Bryan Danielson, his legal name, and his wife pulled into their garage, noticing the door to their home was open. The two men quickly ran out of the house and escaped on foot.
"Mr. Danielson, who was the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, chased the two men," Phoenix police sergeant Tommy Thompson said to E! News. "After some distance, Mr. Danielson was able to catch one of the men, Cesar Sosa. A struggle ensued and Mr. Danielson was able to subdue Sosa and detain him until the police officers could take him into custody. The second suspect was not located. Sosa and his accomplice had broken the rear arcadia door to get into the house to burglarize it. When the burglary was interrupted, they dropped their loot and ran away."
Sosa, 22, was taken to Maricopa County Jail and booked on burglary charges. He had a felony warrant out for his arrest on another burglary and kidnapping charge. There is no information on the second suspect or their whereabouts.
Danielson, 33, and Bella later held a press conference where they discussed the attempted burglary. He said it was relatively easy to catch up with the man during the chase and Danielson didn't think the two men know the house belonged to WWE superstars.
"He put up very little resistance," Danielson said. He also commented that he shouted some "bad words" at the man as he caught up to him.
Danielson got emotional when recalling a piece of jewelry from his late father that was almost taken.
