According to online reports, super couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have paid half of a million dollars to hire a baby body double for their daughter, North "Nori" West. The pair hope to throw off paparazzi from being able to follow and take pictures of their child by using this decoy.

The celebrities used a specialized agency to hold "auditions" in Los Angeles earlier in the summer to find a child who "is the spitting image" of 13-month-old North, where the job's compensation is a hefty $500,000.

According to the British magazine Grazia and newspaper The Mirror, the reality-TV queen and her rapper husband also hired a nanny body double to add to the protection North can get from photographers.

The two were apparently concerned about the paparazzi attention North was getting when she was spotted out with just her nanny. The baby body double is an effort to limit the amount of photographers that can get to the real youngest West.

The Kardashian-West family are not the first celebs to take this sort of drastic measure to keep kids out of the spotlight.

Tom Cruise and ex-wife Katie Holmes also allegedly hired decoys after the birth of their daughter Suri to keep reporters away. However, their cover was blown when the two girls were photographed within minutes of each other wearing matching outfits. The lookalike was hired after Cruise met with abduction experts and risk analysts.

"[Experts] have talked with them specifically in relation to Suri and her wellbeing," a source said at the time. "These guys deal with kidnap threats of families and children for super rich people and corporations ... They work in high risk territories and targets around the world. They advise on how to best prevent subjects being placed in compromising situations, while offering protection solutions, too."
