Wii U Video Game Sales & Update: More Gamers Say they Would Buy Console; Super Smash Bros. Coming Soon
Nintendo Wii U sales are continuing to increase thanks to new titles such as Mario Kart 8 and some future games on the horizon from Nintendo.
Not only are sales doing well for Nintendo Wii U consoles and games, but more prospective buyers say they are likely to buy a Wii U, according to a recent survey from Gamespot GameTrax. Twenty-two percent of those surveyed said they will either probably buy a Wii U (12 percent) or definitely buy a Wii U (10 percent).
Nintendo's recent game releases could be swaying buyers to buy a Wii U instead of an Xbox One or Playstation 4. The Wii U was released a year before Microsoft's Xbox One, but it has sold 6.6 million units, beating Xbox One sales of 4.9 million units.
Gamers recognize the titles of Nintendo Wii U games like Zelda, Super Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors and Star Fox. In the survey, they rated these games as top quality games, games that they are aware of and as games they intend to buy.
Zelda Wii U is scheduled for a release date sometime in 2015. A demo of the game was shown at the E3 Conference earlier this summer. Check out the video for the game.
Thanks to the dual screen capability of Wii U, the next Star Fox for Wii U will be quite a fun experience. In the game, the controller will also have a view of the airwing's cockpit and instruments inside the jet.
In the past few days, several pictures and screenshots have been released for the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. game. The graphics look very impressive for the game that is set to be released around the holidays this year. The Nintendo 3DS version will be available in October.
