'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8 Spoilers: New Season Teasers Revealed at Comic-Con PLUS Trailer for Penny's Movie [Video]
At Comic-Con, the writers and executive producers of " The Big Bang Theory" unveiled new details and a teaser video of what's to come in Season 8 of the popular CBS comedy series.
Season 7 of the long-running series ended with a cliffhanger when Penny and Leonard found Sheldon at a train station right before he tried to escape Pasadena. According to the International Business Times, "he was overwhelmed with all the changes that were taking place around him, including the newly engaged Penny and Leonard's talk about moving-in together, without him, and the burning down of Stuart's comic-store."
In spite of Sheldon's dramatic departure last season, the writers promise that Sheldon and Amy will continue to work on their "own weird brand of happiness," reports Entertainment Weekly.
Fortunately for Sheldon, the epic comic book will make a comeback next season. "There will be a comic book store in the future, we're figuring out how exactly that will work out but the show will not go on without a comic book store, I promise you," said executive producer Steve Molaro.
Molaro also said that viewers should not expect to see Penny and Leonard tying the knot anytime soon. "They're not going to rush," Molaro spilled. "Penny's first goal is to put the date far enough in the future so that everyone knows for a fact that she is not pregnant."
The EP added that there are no set plans to reveal the mystery of Penny's last name in the new season. "At this point we've come so far that it's a bit of a superstition for us, so if and when Penny and Leonard get married we'll figure it out at that point," said Molaro.
Molaro also teased that the producers have an idea of how the long-running show might end, although he didn't reveal any hints. "I have thoughts, but I'm not going to say them right now," Molaro said.
And finally, the producers released the first look at the trailer for Penny and Wil Wheaton's monkey movie, "Serial Ape-Ist 2: Monkey See, Monkey Kill." Watch it below.
