The Apple MacBook Pro Retina received some minor updates Tuesday. More RAM and a minor boost in processor speeds are among the updates the laptop received.

In addition to the features improving, the high-end MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch model will receive a price reduction by $100. The 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina models use the Haswell processors and received a 200 megahertz speed boost. The 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina models switched over to a variation of the Haswell processor called the Crystal Well processors.

A small boost in battery life is afforded by upgrading the processors in both models. The 13-inch model now gets nine hours of battery life and the 15-inch model gets eight hours. That's up from seven hours in the previous processors.

Both size MacBook Pro Retinas are now 0.71-inches thick. That's because the 13-inch model was slightly redesigned to improve its thickness.

Along with the new processors, graphics cards were updated on both models as well. Both models now use the Iris integrated graphics. Apple says these graphics deliver 90 percent faster performance.

The MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch model starts at $1,299 and the 15-inch model starts at $1,999. All 13-inch models will come with 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM pre-installed. All 15-inch models will come with 16 GB of RAM pre-installed.

If buyers wish to customize their MacBook Pro Retinas, they can add up to 1 terrabyte (TB) of flash storage space. 

The MacBook Pro Retina refreshed models are available online and in Apple stores starting Tuesday.
