Jessie J Releases Hot New Song 'Bang Bang' Featuring Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande [Listen]
Jessie J's highly anticipated collaboration track with two of the hottest female artists in the music scene right now, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, has officially been released on Tuesday morning, July 29.
Produced by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ilya, who previously worked on Grande's summer hit "Problem," the uptempto song reminds listeners of the 2001 "Lady Marmalade" cover by Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink and Lil Kim, as the fierce trio undoubtedly brings a powerful sound together.
The track opens with the British singer energetically belting out the first verse: "She got a body like an hourglass / But I can give it to you all the time / She got a booty like a Cadillac / But I can send you into overdrive."
The power collaboration then explodes into a catchy chorus -- accompanied by retro-style guitar, handclaps and choir-like backing vocals that all add up to the throwback feel:
"Bang bang into the room (I know you want it) / Bang bang all over you (I'll let you have it) / Wait a minute let me take you there / Wait a minute tell you / Bang bang there goes your heart (I know you want it) / Back, back seat of my car (I'll let you have it) / Wait a minute let me take you there / Wait a minute tell you."
After the brassy chorus, the Grande joins in to show off her vocal prowess.
"See anybody could be good to you / you need a bad girl to blow mind," she sings. Minaj also offers her rapid-fire rap verse. "It's Myx Moscato, its frizz in a bottle, it's Nicki full throttle / Swimming in the grotto, we winning in the lotto."
"Bang Bang" is the lead single off Jessie J's forthcoming third solo album via Lava/Republic, due out this fall. The power collaboration will also be featured on the deluxe version of Ariana Grande's "My Everything," which is scheduled for a release on Aug. 25.
