Marvel is known for exciting post-credits scenes that give a glimpse of the company's upcoming titles or superheroes, making the absence of a short clip after "Guardians of the Galaxy" world premiere something that left the fans wondering.

However, the post-credit scene was only omitted in most of the pre-screenings of Marvel's latest film, MTV reports. Despite rumors that "Guardians" did not feature a teaser that most fans excitedly wait for after each film, there is indeed a post-credit scene that can possibly have more meaning than any other prior clips.

Director James Gunn did previously explain that the teaser would be "pure joy" for comic and superhero fans, especially those of Marvel's. In the post-credits clip, the Russian space-dog named Cosmo is seen licking the badly hurt and bruised Collector who is portrayed by Benicio del Toro. The funny cosmic canine is voiced by actor Nathan Fillion.

Then Howard the Duck is shown, rather surprising in a sense that instead of giving an idea to moviegoers of what the next step of Marvel would be like, this one could lead them to be a little lost.

For years, "Howard the Duck" has been a running joke in the Marvel community as an obvious hilarity, according to Zap2it. While he's apparently a joke, Howard is still in fact technically a superhero in the Cinematic Universe of Marvel, given that he had a film in 1986 despite being regarded as the worst hero of all time.

Post-credit scenes typically create links between Marvel films, especially with future ones, but Gunn decided to make things different. As somewhat of a black sheep in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was the best film to give the unusual post-credits scene.

The Collector is a character that can be linked to Thanos, who was also previously seen in another tease, giving the idea that Guardians and the Avengers may somehow intersect in the future.
