'Frozen' Movie Online, 'Let It Go' and Soundtrack: Film's Sequel Inevitable?
Disney's "Frozen" remains strong in its popularity streak and rumors of a sequel are already swirling.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has said the potential for a "Frozen" franchise is very likely.
"We expect to see not just new product but continued interest in this and continued impact on the bottom line for quite a while. Its success speaks volumes on the future of animation at our company," Iger said, according to Variety. "'Frozen' is one of the company's top five franchises. So you can expect us to take full advantage of that over the next at least five years."
Entertainment blog CinemaBlend reported in April that a sequel is highly likely.
"Frozen 2 seems inevitable. It's just not official. We reached out to Disney, who had no official comment on the state of Frozen 2. But the writing's clearly on the wall," according to CinemaBlend.
But as of now, "Frozen 2" is frozen in thin air, a mere thought with no story, no plot and no cast.
"Frozen" has already grossed $1.2 billion worldwide, won many awards, and has been called the most successful animation of all time.
Although fans are hoping for a sequel, there is no information to even begin to speculate on what the story would be about.
Hallels reported that the theory is it will continue from the original movie, especially since Disney producers indicated that "Frozen" leaves some questions unanswered.
But will the rumored sequel be just as big as the original movie?
BREATHEcast.com highlights that most Disney sequels never get a chance on the big screen, and are usually released straight to DVD.
And there may also be a "Frozen"-themed ride at the theme parks.
The Huffington Post reported the Imagineers are preparing to replace Epcot's Maelstrom ride with a "Frozen" ride. But an opening date has not been announced.
