Madden NFL 15 Gameplay, Player Ratings & Release Date: Which Fullbacks, Offensive Linemen Stand Out
There's already been a few NFL Preseason games, and we're already seeing some of professional football's greatest players before the season even starts. How will these players perform in Madden NFL 2015? Let's take a look at some player ratings.
Fullbacks
Fullbacks aren't as important as they used to be in professional football. More teams are spreading out the offense and using single back sets. But, fullbacks still provide lead blocks for running backs and still occasionally pick up key first downs in short yardage situations.
John Kuhn received the top rating for fullbacks with a 93 overall rating (OVR). He ranks first in pass blocking and third in awareness. He's the perfect fullback for your team because he can catch the ball, run the ball when needed and block as well.
Mike Tolbert is right behind Kuhn with a 92 OVR rating. He the Carolina Panthers' go-to-guy on the goal line and will fight his way through tackles with his powerful trucking capabilities (90 rating, first among fullbacks).
Marcel Reece of the Oakland Raiders is a fast fullback. That may seem like a weird combination for a fullback, but Madden 15 ranks him at 90 for speed, which is the fastest fullback in the game. He also the most agile fullback in the game. This makes Oakland's backfield one to watch out for.
Offensive Linemen
In front of the fullbacks are offensive linemen. Here are some of the top-rated O-line players.
Joe Thomas receives a perfect 99 pass block rating. That gives new quarterback Johnny Manziel plenty of protection from opposing D-line players.
Evan Mathis receives a perfect 99 run block rating. This gives running back LeSean McCoy tons of holes to run through.
Madden NFL 15 drops Aug. 26 in North America and Aug. 29 in the EU.
