Justin Bieber seems to be working on making himself look bad ass. From his growing collection of tattoos, beefed up bod, multiple run-ins with authorities, and now facial hair? Yup, a recent photo of the pop superstar shows him with a goatee.

The Biebs has always enjoyed using social media, including Twitter and Instagram, and has often posted selfies of himself online. However, over the past few days, he has been posting images that show a new feature in JB's face - facial hair. The "All Around the World" singer seems to be sporting a bit of moustache and goatee. So what exactly is the reason for this new look?

According to Hollywood Life, Justin's motivation may very well be Selena Gomez.

The "Come & Get It" singer has gone from teenybopper Disney kid to a daring superstar in just a few months. Aside from a successful new record (Star Dance), a no. 1 on the Billboard Charts, and a Best Pop Video win at the 2013 MTV VMAs, she has also found a new love for posting bikini pictures on Instagram. This new hobby of Selena seems to show that she has already shed her kiddie ways and is now a woman.

With this, it may seem that a more mature Gomez needs a man and not a boy.

"We all know Selena Gomez, 21, deserves a real man in her life - not a boy. Justin, 19, could be trying to show his ex that he is becoming more mature - and therefore more worthy of her love and time - by posting this new facial hair pic to Instagram," wrote Hollywood Life.

While this idea may be true, the facial hair may just be another display of Justin's new bad boy image. In fact, the singer has been on another nightclub scuffle recently. According to TMZ, Bieber was at Uniun Nightclub in Toronto last Saturday, when he got into a fight with another party goer. The man allegedly "charged at him" and tried to put him down. Security rushed to stop the fight, but according to Yahoo! OMG, JB lost a $40,000 gold chain in the rumble.
