One Direction Tours, Songs, and News Update 2014: Simon Cowell Thinks 'Midnight Memories' Hitmakers Will Split
It has recently been reported that Simon Cowell thinks his protégé One Direction will eventually split and pursue solo careers.
The "X Factor" judge has predicted that the 1D members, who are signed to his record label Syco Entertainment, will make at least two more albums before they go their separate ways. "Bands don't stay together forever," he told Daily Star. "I think they will make at least two more albums together, and they are in the middle of one right now."
When asked whether he thinks the "Midnight Memories" singers will split because of Harry Styles possibly pursuing a solo career, Cowell addressed the recent rumors: "No, I don't think that is going to happen for a while. Eventually, I am sure they all will."
Similarly, Styles previously shut down speculation of him leaving the British boyband, and insisted that he will be part of 1D unless he is forced to drop out. "I'm 100 percent in this band," he told BBC's "Top of the Pops." "I still want to be touring with One Direction in ten years. I'll be doing it until I'm old and people are telling me to stop."
Meanwhile, while backstage at V Festival, producer Naughty Boy discussed his "amazing" new track he worked with Zayn Malik for One Direction's upcoming fourth studio album. "There's a real possibility it'll be the first single. Look at the smile on my face. Simon loves it. He even texted me about it," he told The Mirror. "I couldn't believe the way he sung on this song, and I think that's going to surprise most people. He glides on it."
The "La La La" hitmaker then revealed that he had just wrapped up the song that day. "I finished the track today actualy and sent it off for mixing." He added that he does not think 1D would break up any time soon and said their latest musical effort is "their best album yet." "They know the value of the unit," he said.
