New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has proven that he's not afraid to let loose and get down on the dance floor.

A video recording captured the Republican governor dancing onstage with Jamie Foxx at a benefit for the Apollo Theater in the Hamptons Saturday night.

"I know you've got a dance in you, Chris Christie," said Foxx, who urged the politician to join him onstage, reports the New York Post.

Apparently, that's all it took to get the political heavyweight to shake his groove-thing at the star-studded affair.

Shortly thereafter, Sen. John McCain, John McCartney and Spike Lee joined the Oscar-winner and politician onstage.

"It's always the ones you don't expect. Republicans love to dance -- in the Hamptons," said Foxx after his performance.

Jack Nicholson also seemed impressed by the potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate's moves.

"That was one hell of a night," he told the Post. "Christie really held his own. I told him, as he walked back to his seat, 'Governor, you can't let New Jersey down.'"

In addition to Foxx, Gladys Knight, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting and Pharrell Williams also performed at Ronald Perelman's East Hampton estate.

Other A-listers at the Apollo benefit included Barbra Streisand and James Brolin, Sir Paul McCartney, Anjelica Huston, Howard Stern, Donna Karan, Robert De Niro, Don Johnson, Roger Waters, Penny Marshall and BET CEO Debra Lee.

AmEx CEO Ken Chenault, Apollo board chair Dick Parsons, Viacom's Philippe Dauman, hedge fund moguls Paul Tudor Jones and David Tepper, billionaire Len Blavatnik and TV news anchors Charlie Rose, Bill O'Reilly, Matt Lauer, Rosanna Scotto and George Stephanopoulos were also in attendance.

Some of the tables at the event were priced at over $100,000.

Altogether, the benefit raised $4 million for programs at the legendary Harlem theater.
