Premios Tu Mundo 2014 Awards Show Preview: Where to Watch, What to Expect in Upcoming Show
The Telemundo award show takes place Thursday night at the American Airlines Arena.
The show will be hosted by Aaron Diaz and Gaby Espino, and it starts at 8 p.m., notes Billboard. The red carpet kicks off an hour earlier at 7 p.m.
Jorge Bernal, Jessica Carrillo and Stephanie Himonidis "Chiquibaby" will host the red carpet. And Christian Ramirez and Kika Rocha will be on hand as fashion experts.
The show will be on Telemundo and, for the first time, mun2 will also be airing the event starting at 8 p.m.
One of the most anticipated moments will be Lucero's performance. The singer and actress has spent most of her career at Univision, and this award show will officially mark her Telemundo debut, notes the Huffington Post.
Other performers include Juanes, Alexis & Fido, Yandel, El General Gadiel, Olga Tañon, Elvis Crespo, David Bisbal, Gabriel Coronel, Gerardo Ortiz, Natalia Jimenez, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and La Ley.
Some of the presenters include Frankie J, Carmen Villalobos, Blanca Soto, Ximena Duque, Aylin Mujica and Aislinn Derbez.
There are eight total categories dedicated to music, and most of the other categories will celebrate people's work, such as Novela of The Year, Favorite Male and Female Protagonist and Favorite Young Actor. But there will also be some unconventional awards, such as #FanClub of the Year, Social Sensation and Favorite Sports Moment.
Prince Royce, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony and Romeo Santos have dominated the award shows in the last few months. Iglesias and Prince Royce have the biggest chance of that at Premios Tu Mundo as they have the most nominations. But, because it is not solely a music award show, don't expect any of these singers to have a big night.
