The Last of Us Remastered for PS3 & PS4 DLC: New Free Multiplayer Maps Available, Developer Addresses Matchmaking Problems
There is some good news for fans of the popular game The Last of Us and its remastered version as well as some not-so-good news.
According to GameSpot, two new and free multiplayer maps will be available for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. However, The Last of Us Remastered version is still going through some matchmaking problems and technical issues, which are causing long waiting times in the multiplayer mode, which is the game's newest feature.
The Last of Us has been acclaimed for its single-player mode, but the latest update has expanded the game's offerings, drawing more attention from both its existing fan base and from new players as well.
According to Arne Meyer, community strategist for developer Naughty Dog, the team is already working to resolve the issue as well as acknowledging how frustrating the problem can be for the community. He also added that it is their No. 1 priority to solve the issue. While the patches released over the last couple of weeks have delivered significant improvements, a lot of work is still required to fix the waiting time for multiplayer matchmaking.
Meyer went on to further illustrate the complicated nature of the issue but assured that the updates needed to hopefully fix the problem should come over the next few weeks rather than by the end of the month. Developers are working with multiple internal and external groups to come up with the fix, but they still cannot promise a specific date of when gamers can expect the patches to rollout.
In the meantime, Naughty Dog suggested that the best way to address the matchmaking issue is to exit the menu and select "Find Match" again. Meyer thanked the community for their continued support and understanding and said that the new maps will be available soon.
