Primetime 2014 Emmy Predictions: Will 'Breaking Bad' Be The Night's Big Winner?
The 2014 Emmys will take place on Monday night and will be hosted by Seth Meyer.
It was a particularly good year for television, and many categories are stacked with great performances and shows.
Here's who we think will take home awards at this year's Emmys.
Lead Actor in a Drama Series
Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad"
Jeff Daniels, "The Newsroom"
Kevin Spacey, "House of Cards"
Jon Hamm, "Mad Men"
Matthew McConaughey, "True Detective"
Woody Harrelson, "True Detective"
Who will probably win? Matthew McConaughey has been lauded for his performance, and he has had a big year at award shows. Though Bryan Cranston probably delivered the most solid performance, the show ended so long ago and has been celebrated so much that it seems unlikely that Cranston will win.
Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Michelle Dockery, "Downton Abbey"
Claire Danes, "Homeland"
Robin Wright, "House of Cards"
Kerry Washington, "Scandal"
Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife"
Lizzy Caplan, "Masters of Sex"
Who will probably win? Lizzy Caplan is a far shot, but perhaps the other actresses will split the vote.
Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Jon Voight, "Ray Donovan"
Peter Dinklage, "Game of Thrones"
Mandy Patinkin, "Homeland"
Josh Charles, "The Good Wife"
Aaron Paul, "Breaking Bad"
Jim Carter, "Downton Abbey"
Who will probably win? Peter Dinklage. He had an amazing season on "Game of Thrones." Every bad thing that could have happened to his character happened, and Dinklage was spectacular in the role.
Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Anna Gunn, "Breaking Bad"
Maggie Smith, "Downton Abbey"
Lena Headey, "Game of Thrones"
Christine Baranski, "The Good Wife"
Christina Hendricks, "Mad Men"
Joanne Froggatt, "Downton Abbey"
Who will probably win? Anna Gunn won it last year, and she will probably win it again this year. But she is up against very talented actresses.
Drama Series
"Breaking Bad"
"Downton Abbey"
"Game of Thrones"
"Mad Men"
"True Detective"
"House of Cards"
Who will probably win? "Breaking Bad" because it is its last chance for the show to win awards, but "True Detective" is probably its biggest competition.
Lead Actor in a Comedy Series
Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory"
Matt LeBlanc, "Episodes"
Don Cheadle, "House of Lies"
Louis C.K., "Louie"
William H. Macy, "Shameless"
Ricky Gervais, "Derek"
Who will probably win? Louis C.K. may have had a controversial season of "Louie," but it might be time to change it up in this category. Jim Parsons has won three times for this category, but Louis C.K. has a good chance of winning.
Lead Actress in a Comedy Series
Lena Dunham, "Girls"
Edie Falco, "Nurse Jackie"
Amy Poehler, "Parks and Recreation"
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, "Veep"
Melissa McCarthy, "Mike and Molly"
Taylor Schilling, "Orange Is the New Black"
Who will probably win? Julia Louis-Dreyfus because "Veep" had a great season. She has won twice in a row, so it'll be a difficult win for her. If anyone stands a chance at winning beside Dreyfus, it is Taylor Schilling.
Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Adam Driver, "Girls"
Jesse Tyler Ferguson, "Modern Family"
Fred Armisen, "Portlandia"
Ty Burrell, "Modern Family"
Tony Hale, "Veep"
Andre Braugher, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"
Who will probably win? Ty Burrell. He's a past winner and always delivers a funny performance.
Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Mayim Bialik, "The Big Bang Theory"
Julie Bowen, "Modern Family"
Anna Chlumsky, "Veep"
Allison Janney, "Mom"
Kate McKinnon, "Saturday Night Live"
Kate Mulgrew, "Orange Is the New Black"
Who will probably win? Kate Mulgrew had a big story arc for "Orange Is the New Black," which made her worthy of the nomination .
Comedy Series
"The Big Bang Theory"
"Louie"
"Modern Family"
"Veep"
"Orange Is the New Black"
"Silicon Valley"
Who will probably win? "Veep" because its last season was the funniest season so far. But "Orange Is the New Black" seems like a possible winner, and "Modern Family" has often dominated this category.
Miniseries
"American Horror Story: Coven"
"Fargo"
"The White Queen"
"Bonnie and Clyde"
"Treme"
"Luther"
Who will probably win? "Fargo" has gotten great reviews and good performances from an amazing cast. "American Horror Story: Coven" might also stand a chance.
Television Movie
"The Normal Heart"
"The Trip to Bountiful"
"Killing Kennedy"
"Sherlock: His Last Vow"
"Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight"
Who will probably win? "The Normal Heart," which might be where Ryan Murphy wins this year.
Variety Series
"The Colbert Report"
"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"
"Jimmy Kimmel Live"
"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon"
"Real Time With Bill Maher"
"Saturday Night Live"
Who will probably win? "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is consistently well produced, and Jon Stewart is very comfortable in that role. It wouldn't be surprising if Stephen Colbert took it, as he has had a good year as well.
Reality-Competition Show
"The Amazing Race"
"Dancing With the Stars"
"Project Runway"
"So You Think You Can Dance"
"Top Chef"
"The Voice"
Who will probably win? "The Amazing Race" because it regularly wins when it is nominated. But "The Voice" could also take it.
