Jennifer Aniston may be a successful actress, but many tabloids keep focusing on the fact that she's unmarried and without children.

The 45-year-old star talked to Carson Daly about her conversations with Gloria Steinem.

"I'd talked to her personally about this for awhile, just because it is such an issue of, like, 'Are you married yet? Are you going to have your babies yet?' It's just constant," she said. "It's like I don't know. I don't have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and if they're not checked, then I've failed some part of my feminism or my value as a woman because I haven't birthed a child."

Instead, Aniston explained that she was proud of the work she has done, and that it was unfair to pressure people into thinking they need to be parents.

Aniston also said she had no idea why people were so interested in her life, but she has been able to get through some tough times, despite being in the public eye.

"All of the fears that I've overcome, challenges that you face that you think, 'Oh, there's no way I'm gonna be able to get through this,' and by the grace of God, you have that strength in you and you get through it."

The interview also touched on her Ice Bucket Challenge, where fiance Justin Theroux slowly poured a bucket of ice water on her head.

Her new movie, "Life of Crime," was another focus of the interview.

Carson Daly noted that even though the movie is dark, Aniston is able to make it light.

"I'm having a lot of fun because I've been branching out and having a lot of fun playing different characters," she said. "[A]nd hiding, and going into, you know, some darker stuff. I'm excited about it."

"Life of Crime" will be out Aug. 29.
