"NBA 2K15" is coming out Oct. 7, but there is plenty of hype surrounding the game. Also included is a new video trailer featuring NBA great Shaquille O'Neal.

In the trailer, Shaq and Ernie Johnson are shown in the 2K studios greeting fans and welcoming them to the NBA 2K15 season.

Then the music hits -- a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers -- and the light shows of the NBA stadiums is shown. The soundtrack was chosen by Pharrell, who has been quite active in the music industry lately.

The details of the player's looks and faces look very impressive. Take this picture of the popular player known as Birdman:

Pretty realistic-looking beard and tattoos!

There's a couple of glitches in the trailer, like the ball somehow going through the side of the net. Also, you see Bucks player O.J. Mayo miss an open dunk/layup attempt. It's not clear whether that was a glitch or if Mayo just missed the easy two-pointer.

The warmups and player introductions look very realistic and so does the gameplay. 2K Sports didn't spare any details when they created this game.

Pre-Order Now and Get Free Extras

If you pre-order the game now from retailers like Gamestop and Amazon, you'll receive special bonus content. It's the KD (Kevin Durant) MVP Bonus Pack and it includes:

  • 5,000 in virtual currency to spend in the game.
  • Kevin Durant Throwback MyTEAM Card.
  • Two MyTEAM Card Packs
  • MyPLAYER leg sleeves, inspired by Kevin Durant

It's a nice reward for being an early buyer of "NBA 2K15." Virtual currency is expensive and no one wants to have to spend money once you've already spent money on the game. So, 5,000 free virtual currency units is a nice gift. The extra cards and leg sleeve features don't really give you much of an advantage but it's nice that they're thrown into the pre-order benefits.
