Pop princess Britney Spears is single again! The singer revealed that she had broken up with David Lucado via a tweet.

The star shared the news with her more than 38 million Twitter followers on Thursday, sharing "Ahhhh the single life!"

She then revealed that she is still feeling positive about her split from Lucado when she also posted a light-hearted video on Instagram a few hours later.

"Okay, if you ever have a really, really s---ty day, find someone with shoes with hearts on them," Spears said to the video camera. She then turned the camera to a friend donning Comme des Garçons shoes. "Made my day!"

The separation of Spears and Lucado came following rumors that he cheated on Spears with another woman. After video was allegedly circulating of Lucado with this mystery other woman, Spears decided to call it quits.

According to E! News, a source said Thursday that Spears is "heartbroken" over the split, but she will be fine.

"She's a strong girl and he was never right for her," the source said of Lucado.

Spears, 32, and Lucado have been linked as a couple since February 2013 and the pair came out as a couple the following month in March. Their relationship began just a month after she broke off her engagement to agent Jason Trawick.

Several months ago the singer said she was in "love" with lawyer Lucado.

"I think it was instant, yeah," she said while appearing on The Ellen Degeneres Show. "I just love that he's very passionate and he's funny and he's sexy."

Spears, who has been married twice before, will be busy continuing her concert residency at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood. The "Toxic" singer also has a new lingerie line debuting on Sept. 9.
