Rajon Rondo and agent Bill Duffy denied reports suggesting that the NBA All-Star point guard asked the Boston Celtics to trade him, as soon as possible.

Alyson Furch, a spokeswoman for Duffy's agency, told the Boston Herald that they are not aware where the news about Rondo asking for a change of scenery came from.

"Neither Bill nor Rajon know where this has come from, but it didn't come from them," Furch said. "They want this on the record. Neither has spoken to anyone about this."

Furch was referring to a recent report indicating that Rondo has informed the Celtics that he wants out, and Boston would likely trade the 28-year-old point guard before the 2014-15 NBA season trade deadline instead of running the risk of losing him through free agency next summer.

Rondo, who averaged 11.7 points to go along with 9.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game last season, remained firm on his previous stance that he wants to stay in Boston despite being mentioned in several trade rumors over the past several months.

Earlier this year, Rondo, who has spent his entire eight-year career in Boston, said, "I don't like change, really. I'm pretty comfortable. I have a beautiful home here, I love it. I don't want to leave. I'm a Celtic."

Celtics insider A. Sherrod Blakely also reported on Monday that most league sources are convinced that Rondo will stay put in Boston at least before next season's trade deadline.

Rondo is reportedly willing to assess their chances first before thinking about a change of scenery, while the Celtics will also look to determine whether or not the former Kentucky standout could play a big role in their rebuilding.

"Multiple league sources have repeatedly said that Rondo wants to start the season in Boston and see where things go from there. A similar sentiment has trickled out of Celtics camp, as well," Blakely wrote. "Rondo is hopeful that the team Danny Ainge is assembling around him is better than most anticipate that they can be this season's feel-good story not only in the East but throughout the NBA."
