Angelina Jolie Wedding Dress News: Movie Star Wore a Custom Atelier Versace Gown
Angelina Jolie's silk gown had a special touch.
The gown, which was a custom Atelier Versace creation, was very simple in the front. Much like Jolie's red carpet style, it was one color and there weren't a lot of frills. But when she turned around, the dress showed off its personality.
Her six children contributed to the look of the dress. Each drew pictures that were featured along the train of the dress and on the veil, notes Fashionista.
The images include flowers, animals and words. The drawings are nicely spaced out through the back of the dress. Some of the pictures were visible on the veil when Jolie faced foward.
People and Hello both had exclusive rights to the images from the wedding, which took place on Aug. 23.
The dress was made by Versace master tailor Luigi Massi, notes People.
"Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress," Jolie said. "He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."
Brad Pitt used a suit he already owned, but because he forgot to pack a tie, he had to borrow one from one of his sons.
Only 20 friends and family members attended the ceremony that was held in the Chateau Miraval chapel.
Not only did the children help design the dress, they were also very involved with the wedding.
Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked Jolie down the aisle. Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, were the flower girls. Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, were the ring bearers.
And all the children helped write the vows. If that weren't impressive enough, Pax also baked the cake.
"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter," the couple said. "It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."
