On Friday, Justin Bieber was arrested on assault and dangerous driving charges following an alleged fight that occurred after Bieber's ATV crashed into an unidentified person's mini-van, CNN reports.

Bieber's lawyer and Ontario Provincial police confirmed Bieber's arrest on Tuesday.

Bieber's laywer confirmed that the 20-year-old pop star's arrest and alleged fight occurred while he was vacationing in Stratford with his on again off again girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

"Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of the paparazzi," Bieber's lawyer, Brian Greenspan told The Huffington Post on Tuesday.

Greenspan continued, "This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved."

The Huffington Post reports that following his arrest, Justin Bieber was later released after promising to appear in court on Sept. 29.

Police have not yet confirmed whether Bieber had been driving the ATV at the time of the accident. However, THP notes that Bieber was recently photographed driving an ATV prior to the accident.

Three days prior to Bieber's arrest and collision, he addressed a separate incident where he got into a car collision with paparazzi during his vacation.
