On Wednesday, ABC's "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts announced the launch of her own production company, Rock'N Robin Productions.

"I'm thinking about my mom and dad," Roberts said on the set of "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, according to  The New York Daily News. "They (always) wanted me to do this -- to be on the creative end of things. I've been in broadcasting for over 30 years, so I'm very, very excited about it."

Deadline reports that Roberts will continue to co-anchor "Good Morning America" in conjunction with overseeing her production company as President.

Roberts has also hired ABC news executive John R. Green to join her company's team as Executive Vice President of Programming and Development.

"We have known each other for 15 years and worked on dozens of primetime specials together, Roberts said about Green on Wednesday. "I'm thrilled to be partnering with him once again."

So far, Rock'N Robin Productions has several projects already underway including "a news-driven documentary, a digital series for espnW, a Thanksgiving themed special for ABC and two reality show pilots," Deadline reports.

The production company will premiere its first series "In the Game With Robin Roberts" on Thursday. According to Deadline, "In the Game" is a series intended to delve into the life stories of some of today's top athlete's.

Rock N' Robin Productions' first "In the Game" episode features Michael Sam, the NFL's first openly gay player.

Prior to the launch of Robin Roberts,' production company, NBC anchor Al Roker launched his own production company, "Al Roker Entertainment" in 1994, The New York Daily News reports.

Following his company's launch, Roker then went on to produce shows for the Food Network, Weather Channel, Lifetime, and more.
