Actress Rosie Perez and Republican media operative Nicolle Wallace have been confirmed as the two new co-hosts that will appear on ABC's upcoming season of "The View," The Huffington Post reports.

ABC first announced Perez and Wallace as new additions to "The View's" co-hosting panel on Wednesday. Perez and Wallace will replace Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy from last season and will join Rosie O' Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg for the show's next season this fall, reports People.

"I am beyond thrilled, honored and completely surprised that I've been asked to join The View," said Perez in a statement obtained by People.

She continued, "Knowing that I'll be in the company of Whoopi, Rosie and Nicolle, three very smart and engaging women that I have an immense amount of respect for, makes it even more unbelievable. The opportunity to connect with our nation's audience on a daily basis ... icing on the cake! Very happy."

"The View" executive producer Bill Wolff also expressed his excitement over the new co-host castings.

"These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table," Wolff told Us Weekly. "This mix of smart, vibrant and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television."

Perez's credits include her appearance as an actress and choreographer in the movies "Do the Right Thing" and "Fearless." Wallace is known for appearing on MSNBC as a political analyst and working as a communications chief for former President George W. Bush and working as an adviser on John McCain's 2008 campaign, The Huffington Post reports.

According to Us Weekly, "The View's" hosting panel is not yet finalized. "ABC and production want a conservative for the final spot," says an Us Weekly source.

ABC's upcoming season of "The View" premieres live on Monday, Sept. 15 at 11e/10c/p.
