2K Sports has just had its first broadcast of a full NBA 2K14 game, and fans couldn't be more excited about the upcoming video game.

The live stream happened last week (Sept. 7) on 2K's Twitch TV account. It featured an epic duel between 2K Sport's Digital Marketing director Ronnie Singh and Community and Social Media Manager Chris Manning, as the two battled it out for bragging rights. Thousands watched the stream live online (that includes me) to see if the game really does live up to the hype - and so far, it looks like it did.

Singh and Manning posted New York Knicks against the Los Angeles Lakers, and right off the bat, several new updated features can already be visible in the first few seconds of the stream. First, NBA 2K14 has updated the hairstyles of the players. If you've been playing NBA 2K13, you probably asked yourself why developers never update the 'do of Iman Shumpert; well in this new game, you'll readily see the Knicks guard's towering top-fade as the starting five is presented.

Improved in-game animation is also readily noticed. 2K has boasted about the 3,500 new animations added to the new game, but players have never really realized how good it was until the stream. During the game, users can see players interacting with their bench, the crowd and other players on court. The enhanced offensive and defensive controls are also hinted on the video, with the updated blocking system greatly highlighted.

Crowd and bench animations have noticeably improved from the previous games as well.

"You should also notice major enhancements to the crowd reactions and the dynamic range of the ambience in the arenas," Jeff Thomas, Visual Concepts executive vice president told Game Informer. "We've added more detailed event controls and reactions, which allowed us to provide a much more immersive and realistic crowd that keeps up with the action on the court." Visual Concepts is the NBA 2K's game developer and is under 2K Sports.

NBA 2K14 will be dropping in stores on Oct. 1 for the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox One.
