Khloe Kardashian is allegedly on a break from her rapper boyfriend French Montana, whom she's been dating for 8 months, Us Weekly reports.

Khloe is the one who chose to go on a break because French is apparently too dependent and needy in the relationship, claims an Us Weekly source.

"It grated on her that he became so dependent on her," says the Us Weekly source. "She just wants time apart from him."

French's alleged "needy" and "dependent" behavior may be in direct correlation to his past statement that he wanted to "capitalize" on Khloe Kardashian's fame.

"I want to capitalize on it," French told Billboard last month. "I'll get a fan base from everywhere. I just hope I'll be able to connect with everything that's going on."

French also boasted about he and Khloe's relationship during a Power 105.1 interview with Angie Martinez back in July. The Bronx rapper compared his new relationship with Khloe to feeling as though he "graduated" and went "on another level." French also gushed about appearing on the next season of "Keeping uP With the Kardashians."

Despite French publicly admitting to using Khloe's fame to catapult his own stardom, Khloe seemed unbothered by French's statement at the time.

On Aug. 17, she tweeted:

She also shrugged off the opposition towards her relationship with French during her Angie Martinez interview.

"People are gonna comment no matter what. If I dated the most clean cut perfect guy, they're gonna comment. Like that's just the way it is. So if I'm having fun and I like this kid, no one else should care, they're not f***ing him."

But now it seems that the youngest Kardashian sister has had a change of heart. Now that she's on an alleged break from French, it is unclear when the controversial couple will get back together.
