'GTA 5 Online' Cheats, Tricks & Gameplay Update on PS3, Xbox 360 & Next-Gen: PS4, Xbox One Release Slated for November [Watch]
The new version of the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto V" will be released this coming November for the new video game platforms Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The updated version of the game will feature new designs and vehicles and will come with perks for current users who update.
Rockstar Games, makers of "GTA V," announced that the updated version for the new consoles would be released on Nov. 18, right before the holiday season, according to USA Today. However, PC gamers will have to wait until Jan. 27 to play their updated version of the game.
According to Time magazine, the game has been a success for the video game developer, leading to the sale of more 34 million games to retailers since its release in Sept. 17, 2013. The new version may entice even more buyers thanks to its improved graphics and added features.
These features include more weapons and vehicles; more wildlife and traffic; 100 new songs and DJ mixes and additional challenges. According to Forbes, the improved game will feature vehicles like the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane, and blimp, all from previous versions of the "GTA" franchise. There will also be wildlife photography and shooting range challenges.
But, what if you already have "GTA V" for the PS3 or Xbox 360? Rockstar is giving those who already have the game an incentive: if you upgrade to the newer version, you will receive $1 million in-game cash to spend on the online version of the video game called "Grand Theft Auto Online."
The online version will also have its own improvements, including better graphics and an increased player count from 16 to 30 players. Gamers will also be able to transfer their GTA Online characters and progress from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the new consoles.
To celebrate the announcement, Rockstar released a new trailer for "GTA V" named "A Picket Fence and a Dog Named Skip."
