Sony Pictures Television is in the midst of pitching a "Married with Children" spinoff based on David Faustino's character, Bud Bundy, E! News first reported on Thursday.

Although Sony Pictures Television has not officially announced the news yet, Faustino's manager confirmed the spinoff to the New York Daily News.

"We are definitely in talks with Sony," Faustino's manager told The New York Daily News. "It's an active development project, but the deals are not closed and still being worked on."

The "Married with Children" cast also dished on the upcoming series during Katey Sagal's (Peggy Bundy) star ceremony on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, E! News reports.

The original "Married with Children" cast including Ed O'Neill (Al), Christina Applegate (Kelly) and David Faustino (Bud) all reunited to celebrate Sagal's special moment and hinted at the new show during their interviews on the Hollywood red carpet.

"We're going to do something with Dave maybe. I don't know if it will be in character," Applegate told E! News at Sagal's Walk of Fame ceremony. "But I don't really know. I don't know what that's going to be. I don't know if I'm allowed to speak on that at all. So I should probably stop talking about it right now!"

Sagal also chimed in on the spinoff news.

"We've talked about (a reunion) every year, but then there are so many pieces that have to be in alignment that for some reason it never happens," she said. "But we love each other. Well, we're all working now, so it's hard to find the time!"

It is still unclear whether the "Married with Children" spinoff will include all of the original cast members or whether it will focus solely on Faustino's character, Bud Bundy, The New York Daily News reports.

The Hollywood Reporter says that it is unclear who will write and produce the spinoff show.
