'Orange Is the New Black' Season 2: Laura Prepon To Return For Only One Episode
If you enjoyed seeing Laura Prepon portray a sarcastic lesbian drug dealer in Season 1 of "Orange Is the New Black," then brace yourself for some disappointing news.
Buzzfeed has reported that Prepon will reprise her role as Alex Vause in only one episode of "Orange Is the New Black" Season 2. Buzzfeed first reported last month that Prepon would be returning for a limited number of Season 2 episodes. Sources said that Prepon didn't sign a contract to return for Season 2, but that producers would leave the door open for her to return.
The critically acclaimed Netflix orginal series, which premiered in July, is based off Piper Kerman's memoir of the same name and stars Taylor Schilling and Jason Biggs. Schilling's character Chapman gets sentenced to 15 months in prison after getting caught with drug money while working for Prepon's character Alex Vause. The show was created by Jenji Kohan ("Weeds").
Vause was the on-again, off-again love interest of Chapman in the first season, and was a major part of her storyline. The season finale showed Vause starting a relationship with fellow inmate Nikki (Natasha Lyonne), so it's unclear how her storyline will wrap up so quickly.
33-year-old Prepon is best known for her role as Donna Pinciotti in "That 70's Show," as well as her roles on ABC's "October Road" and NBC's "Are You There Chelsea?," both of which were short-lived.
Season 2 of "Orange Is the New Black" started filming in July. You can currently follow the official "OITNB" Instagram account to see photos from the set, which feature all of your favorite inmates and guards in their prison attire.
