iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Cases and Accessories: Otterbox Introduces "Create Your Case" Feature for New iPhones
Otterbox is known for their rugged smartphone cases, but now they are letting customers pick out the color combinations for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
In the past there was only a few color combinations and you were stuck with what Otterbox thought looked good. Now you are in control with your favorite color schemes for the Otterbox Defender series.
You will be able to choose the color of the outter rubber shell. This is the first line of defense when you drop your iPhone. There are many different color choices for this outer silicon covering.
Next, you will be able to choose the inner plastic casing color. This is the second layer of protection that includes that built in screen protector.
Finally the belt holster is customizable as well.
In total there are over 128 different color combinations. No more deciding from just black, white and blue. Now you will be able to try pinks, purples, yellows, grays and more.
The Defender Series is the most rugged and protective case that Otterbox offers. The Colorado-based accessories company also owns Lifeproof which offers waterproof cases.
Currently on Otterbox and Lifeproof's website, the custom colors are available on a "notify me" basis only. This means that you can pick out your favorite color combination or case and have the company e-mail you when it is ready.
If you cannot wait and would rather have a simple color like black, white or gray, those colors are available for immediate ordering. The cases retail at $59.90 and there is a $5 shipping charge. Otterbox is trying to ship out the cases as quickly as they can and are quoting about 2-3 business days from Tuesday.
Otterboxes are also available in stores. Visiting Best Buy however and speaking to a representative, you will likely find out that the new Otterboxes will not be available for a couple of weeks.
