Belinda is not the only person whose outfit caused a stir.

While Belinda was criticized for wearing pants instead of a skirt as part of her charro outfit, the Mexican first lady Angelica Rivera was criticized for the cost of her dress. For the event, Rivera wore a $6,000 Oscar de la Renta dress, which is the equivalent of 83,000 pesos. The pink and navy silk taffeta gown had puffed cap sleeves and an A-line skirt.

People have taken to social media to express their opinions on the dress, with some saying that the money could have helped families who need it, notes TV y Novelas.

One said, "Offensive appearance by Angelica Rivera, with her 80 thou pesos dress. This is where the taxes go."

"So this is how our stale political class spends money," another noted. "All at the expense of the people who literally suffer from hunger."

Although some wonder if she paid for the dress. As the first lady, she could have been given the dress as a gift, but it doesn't stop people from criticizing her choice. Oscar de la Renta may be a Latino designer, but he is not Mexican. De la Renta is Dominican, and the dress doesn't signal to Mexico, as there is no green, white or red on it.

"Why the hell did Angelica Rivera use this dress?" a website said to echo the feelings of the public. "If she didn't choose a Mexican designer, why not something that was 'patriotic.'"

The site went on to explain that last year Rivera wore a green dress and was compared to Shrek, and that if the first lady wore red, white and green at once, she should have been accused of having bad taste.
