To many Latinos, Don Francisco is part of their childhoods.

The Chilean television host has been a staple on Univision for nearly 30 years. Every Saturday, his three-hour show runs on the network, but this may change.

TV Azteca is reportedly interested in the show and host Don Francisco, notes Diario Basta.

A source said that Roberto Romagnoli, who is the director of entertainment and production for TV Azteca in Mexico and the United States, has met with Francisco, whose real name is Mario Luis Kreutzberger Blumenfeld.

"It's known that Robert met with Don Francisco," the source said. "By the looks of it, he was in the United States for a few days. They met and had dinner, and right then, Roberto proposed a contract with TV Azteca. He talked about possible projects and tried to get Don Francisco excited."

It's not clear what the deal would look like, but the source said that there are new projects that TV Azteca believes Francisco would be perfect for.

But if TV Azteca is planning on shelling out big bucks, it will be on someone who is as iconic as Francisco.

"We're talking about a lot of money," the source said. "But it would be an investment, not an expense, as Don Francisco is an institution in Hispanic television, a small key that will open more doors across the continent."

Though this news hasn't been verified, it does appear that TV Azteca has been trying to make big moves lately.

Actress Danna Paola is another person the company is interested in.

Romagnoli said that he talked to the actress' father to possibly add her to its team.

And TV Azteca will also launch AZ Clic and AZ Cinema, which are two new Pay TV channels.

Clic will be focused on a younger demographic and will touch on music and lifestyle. The other channel will play Mexican movies.
