'Parenthood' Season 6 Episode 1 Preview & Spoilers: Can Joel and Julia Save Their Marriage?
In light of the Season 6 premiere "Parenthood," which is just days away, new spoilers indicate that the sixth and final season of the popular series will be no picnic for the Braverman clan.
After hitting bumps in their relationship, Joel and Julia's marriage was left on the rocks at the end of Season 5. However, fans rooting for this couple to reconcile might not get what they want.
According to actor Sam Jaeger, there's little hope that his character Joel will work things out with Julia, at least in the beginning of the season.
"There's always a chance for them to get back together. And hey, I'd love to report that all of season six is us just sitting around laughing and hugging each other. But there are more conflicts and more outside and inside threats to their relationship," he told E! News. "They are just different people now than where the season ended. We certainly don't start where we left off."
In a recent interview with TVLine, "Parenthood" show creator Jason Katims also hinted that there will be a change in the dynamic of Joel and Julia's rocky marriage in Season 6, "where it's Joel who's trying to get back into Julia's good graces. It's about refining Julia, who decides to move on with her life," he said.
Adam and Kristina will also face obstacles when they try to get their autistic son Max to warm up to the idea of going to the new school that they fought hard to open. At the end of last season, the parents decided to open the Chambers Academy to prevent Max from being bullied by his peers. However, a new video teaser reveals that Max wants nothing to do with the school and is headstrong about home schooling.
"We want you to be excited to go here because this isn't going to be like your old school. None of that stuff that happened there is going to happen here," Adam said in the video clip, published on TV Guide.
Season 6 of "Parenthood" is slated to begin on Thursday, Sept. 25, on NBC.
