MTV 'Teen Mom' News Update: Sex Tape Star Farrah Abraham Says God Leads Her Life, Will Write Christian Parenting Book
Farrah Abraham has set the record straight about her spiritual side.
In an interview with the Christian Post, the reality star opened up about why her faith and her work in adult movies are not two separate things.
"Many would look at what I do and feel as though there is a conflict," she said. "If you know what faith is, and you truly try to understand the examples of God in the Bible and learn and reflect on them, just know I didn't pick what I'm doing nor did I share the full details of how I got to be where I am, as you may judge in black and white from the outside. I let God lead my life and faith -- enough said."
Abraham also explained that she wasn't a porn star, and her faith was stronger than people's labels of her.
The reality star saud that being on TV has given her a platform to help other people as well. Derek Underwood, who is the father of her daughter, died before he could meet his daughter.
Abraham said she has dealt with "death, fights, childbirth, breakups, being kicked out, stress beyond words, depression and many more obstacles."
She said God is also responsible for giving her the chance to be on TV.
Abraham has written a few erotic novels, but she's also going to write a Christian parenting book. She credits her faith to allowing her to be the mother she is. One of the parenting choices she made headlines for was choosing to homeschool her daughter.
Abraham didn't want to open her daughter to the possibility of being teased or ridiculed, so she thinks keeping her out of the spotlight is the best way to do it.
"Faith is No. 1 in my heart and mind," she said. "Without this, I would not be the best parent I could be, and my daughter would not be as gifted as she is."
