The National Football League (NFL) enters its Week 4, with the season a quarter of the way done by the end of Sunday. While the playoffs seem a ways away, an ugly start at this point could sink a team's chances of making it into the postseason. Here is a look at three of the top games of interest for Week 4:

Detroit Lions (2-1) @ New York Jets (1-2)
It has been a tough year for Jets' second-year quarterback Geno Smith despite the 100 percent suppor from head coach Rex Ryan with fans demanding that Michael Vick get the start after last Monday's performance. Smith managed to get only one touchdown in six trips to the red-zone as well as throwing two picks including a screen pass returned for a touchdown. The running game has been a bright spot for the Jets, fourth in the league with 473 yards. Chris Ivory may end up starting over Chris Johnson and Bilal Powell this week considering he has 190 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the team.

"Maybe Chris Ivory will get more time because he's certainly running hard, he's doing a great job out of the backfield and there's not a whole lot of guys that want to tackle him," Ryan said.

The Lions are at the top of the NFC Central division and while they may have trouble running the ball against the Jets front seven -- with New York leading the league against the rush allowing an average of only 55 yards per game -- the idea of facing the injury-plagued Jets secondary must have Matthew Stafford salivating at the idea of airing the ball out. The Jets defense has yet to make an interception this year and allowed Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson and Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery to have 100-yard games in consecutive weeks. With the Jets secondary struggling, perennial All-Pro WR Calvin Johnson, free agent wide receiver acquisition Golden Tate and multi-purpose RB Reggie Bush may give New York's defense fits.

On the defensive the side of the ball, the Lions are at the top of the heap allowing only 733 total yards in the season thus far but will be without linebacker Stephen Tulloch for the rest of the year, who blew out his knee mocking Aaron Rodger's "Discount Double Check" celebration.

"To the team in general it's a great loss because (Tulloch) is the leader of the defense,"fellow Lions LB Tahir Whitehead said.

Prediction: Stafford just has many weapons between Tate, Johnson and Bush to peck away at a substandard Jets secondary, which should have signed free agent CB Darrelle Revis when they had the chance to sign him, and will lead Lions to another victory as they try to stay ahead of the Chicago Bears in the division.

Green Bay Packers (1-2) @ Chicago Bears (2-1)
The Bears are trying to keep pace with the Lions and are coming off a "Monday Night Football" victory over the Jets. QB Jay Cutler went 23-of-38 passes for 225 yards against the weak Jets secondary, finding WR Alshon Jeffery, who played despite a hamstring injury, eight times for 105 yards. The Bears defense is pretty banged up with Charles Tillman out for the season (torn right triceps), LB Shea McClellin ruled out for Sunday (broken hand), and DT Jay Ratliff (concussion), S Ryan Mundy (stinger) and S Chris Conte (shoulder) all dealing with injuries.

The Packers are last in the division and have their fans panicked considering they play in one of the toughest divisions in the NFC. The Packers are 28th in offense in a 32-team league with QB Aaron Rodgers completing 62.7 percent of his passes and failing to throw for 200 yards in two of the last three starts.

"Five letters here just for everybody out there in Packer-land: R-E-L-A-X," Rodgers said on Tuesday during ESPN Milwaukee radio show. "Relax. We're going to be OK."

Prediction: Rodgers is 10-2 against the Bears yet despite Rodgers' pleas for the fans and media to relax, if the offense cannot find their rhythm, the Packers are in trouble of staying in the cellar of the NFC Central for another week. The Packers defense has been atrocious giving up 156.3 rushing yards per game, which may be what the doctor ordered for Chicago's RB Matt Forte, who had only 33 yards on 13 carries last Monday night. Add the return of DE Julius Peppers to the Bears defensive lineup and the Packers are looking their second straight loss.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) vs San Francisco 49ers (1-2)
The 49ers find themselves last in the NFC West, having lost their last two games in a row and facing a team that is currently undefeated. A lack of discipline has been a huge problem for the 49ers, getting flagged 16 times for 118 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 2 and nine times for 107 yards against the first place Arizona Cardinals last week. The running game has also been sputtering for San Francisco with Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde rushing for just a combined nine times for 23 yards against Arizona, wasting QB's Colin Kaepernick performance in that game. Kaepernick threw 245 yards, 19 of those passes going to WRs Stevie Johnson and Michael Crabtree for 200 yards.

"We should have two wins," Kaepernick said. "These games were close games that we should have won."

Despite not having Aldon Smith and Navarro Bowman, the 49ers defense has been clicking, led by LB Patrick Willis and DT Justin Smith, allowing an average 312.0 yards per game, sixth-best in the league.

The Eagles are off to their best start since 2004, the year they went to Super Bowl after starting 7-0 that season. Nick Foles threw for 325 passing yards and three touchdown passes last week against the Washington Redskins in a chippy game that saw the ejection of LT Jason Peters in the fourth quarter. The Eagles defense has not been as prolific as the offense, currently ranked 26th in the league, giving up 386.0 yards a game to opponents.

Prediction: The trip to San Francisco is one of the toughest road games in the league and with issues on the offensive line (C Jason Kelce, LG Evan Mathis, and OT Allen Barbre are all injured while Lane Johnson is serving a suspension) as well as a defense that has trouble shutting people down, this looks like a good week for San Francisco to snap their losing streak at the expense of the Eagles.
