Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo Relationship: Sparks Opens Up About Split, Derulo Slams Haters
During an interview with the "Today" show on Monday, Jordin Sparks opened up about her recent breakup with "Talk Dirty" singer Jason Derulo.
"I'm good, actually," she explained her feelings about the breakup. "The funny thing is I read this quote, 'When something unexpected happens in your life or you think something bad happens, just say, 'plot twist!' And move on.'"
The American Idol alum also addressed the breakup on Twitter with a cryptic message that read, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Though Sparks appears to be doing fine following the breakup, E! News reports that her now ex-boyfriend recently revealed on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" that he and Sparks are cordial but not on the best of terms.
"I wouldn't say good terms," Derulo admitted to Ryan Seacrest. "I'll be lying if I said that, but it's not a bad situation. There's no bad blood. We didn't end off on a weird way or a negative way. It's not like we're hitting each other up, like, 'Hey, what are you doing today?'"
Last week, Derulo took the time out to address the critics and media outlets that claimed he cheated on Sparks.
"Though I think it is a private matter and intended to keep my break-up Jordin personal, due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment," Derulo told ABC News last week.
"Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives," he continued.
The following day after Derulo denied the cheating rumors, he also took to Instagram to address the "haters" that have blamed him for the couple's split.
On Sunday, Derulo posted a meme of Leonardo DiCaprio with the message, "Cheers to my haters, be patient so much more is coming..."

E! News reports, Derulo and Sparks first made their relationship public back in January 2012 and had been dating almost 3-years prior to their split.
