Nicki Minaj Instagram: 'Anaconda' Rapper to Host MTV EMA's in Scotland
Rapper Nicki Minaj will host the upcoming MTV EMA awards show on Nov. 9 in Scotland.
The rap diva will also be performing at the show along with stars Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran.
The MTV EMA's will be enjoying its special 20th anniversary this year. As Robbie Williams said in his 2011 acceptance speech, "Please keep buying my records, I'm a celebrity, we have many divorces, I have to pay for them." The award show is known for being full of shocking moments and it has a track record of acceptance speeches. The show stands as one of the most popular award shows worldwide.
Categories in the show's line-up include Best Pop Song, Best Female Artist, Best Male Artist and most importantly Best Song of the Year, to name a few. The night's host, Minaj, is one of the nominees in the Best Female category. Will she complete her triumph of the night by winning the award? The nominees for the night's ultimate award for Best Song include:
Ariana Grande - "Problem" Ft. Iggy Azalea
Eminem - "The Monster" Ft. Rihanna
Katy Perry - "Dark Horse" Ft. Juicy J
Pharrell Williams - "Happy"
Sam Smith - "Stay With Me"
Best Song Nominee Grande shared her experience as "Backstage Host" at last year's EMA's in Amsterdam saying, "It was really fun to be part of it and to meet everybody." Grande says that she met Iggy Azalea at last year's show and a couple of months later they made "Problem", leading to her nomination for Best Song at this year's award show.
Excited to see Nicki Minaj host the EMAs? Not as excited as the woman of many faces was. Nicki took to Twitter to announce her exclusive gig to the world on Sept. 30. "So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this..." Minaj posted a photo of herself dressed as a queen on a throne with the MTV EMA's logo (click here to see photo). The MTV EMA's 2014 with air on Sunday Nov. 9 at 9 p.m. CET.
