New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony likes their chances in the upcoming season, but the All-Star forward admitted that he wants more help in the next several years.

Anthony said in an interview that when he decided to stay with the Knicks for another five years, he told team president Phil Jackson that they need to add more talents in the team, possibly another star that he can share the scoring load with, in order to become a title contender.

"For this season right now, we have what we have, we're going to deal with that," Anthony said via Newsday. "We're going to deal with that. That was a big discussion with me and Phil talking about -- that was one of my things. I didn't want to have to do it night in and night out. I wanted some nights when somebody else can pick up the load."

Anthony had to carry the Knicks on his shoulders last season when he averaged 27.4 points to go along with 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, but it was not enough as New York failed to advance to the postseason.

The 30-year-old forward tested free agency this offseason and received strong offers from the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets before agreeing to sign a five-year deal with the Knicks.

While Anthony made it no secret that he wants more help next season, Anthony said that he believes the triangle offense of new coach Derek Fisher will make his role easier.

"It will be less pressure on me," Anthony said. "I can see that now in training camp. I feel that. I can see what we're able to do with the little bit of time we've been together this week. I see other guys' roles and how they're implemented into the system and what they're capable of doing. I think it'll be easier."

Anthony is also confident that the triangle system will make him a better and much smarter player, while also adding that he is looking forward to making his teammates better by making plays for them next season.
